Health matters. I do believe this. In fact, health matters most but balancing making a living with maintaining my health is not an easy task. I often find myself face to face with the question of how to prioritize my wellbeing in spite of all the responsibilities that require most of my time.

Consequences of Living in Today’s World

My chaotic lifestyle allows no room for a stable routine. This means irregular sleep patterns, a convenient diet instead of a healthy one, and quite a lot of coffee. If I were to guess, I’d say the majority of working individuals can relate to my story. I have been aware for a long time that my lifestyle has led me to accumulate lots of toxins in my body, which show up on my face as acne, in my stomach as consistent bloating and constipation, and in my brain as inflammation causing me headaches and lack of concentration.

Besides my own lack of care, I am also bombarded by toxins from my environment. Secondhand smoking, cleaning products, mold in places I cannot reach or see, air pollution, and even modern hygiene products, all add to the issue. My body is overwhelmed and my immune system can only do so much by itself. I can feel it. I can feel it when I am still tired even after 8 hours of sleep. I can feel it when I look at all the acne scars, and I can feel it in the relief I get after I finally manage to escape constipation.  So I want to help my body out by easing its workload and removing some of these toxins.

Best Compromise

Now, intermittent fasting or dieting is not for me. I need energy in order to be able to work. I also cannot afford facials nor saunas but I can afford cheap, powerful, and natural antioxidants and anti-inflammatories. I know that the best way to get those is from diet and I’d love to be able to enjoy some superfoods, but my lifestyle is unlikely to allow me to do so. That is why my best option would be to take these antioxidants and anti-inflammatories in a quick supplement format with plenty of water. Supplements are not only convenient, but they also pack a strong punch with concentrated levels of these useful substances.

Curcumin is a substance found in turmeric, which provides not only its color and flavor but also most of its health benefits. However, given the fact that curcumin is only a small percentage of the entire turmeric spice, taking it in supplements would allow me to get a higher dose of it than if I were to take it as a spice in my food.

At the same time, taking such supplements gives me an excuse to increase the amount of liquid I drink daily, helping me flush out more of the toxins in my body. The best part is that being a natural substance, there are no side effects to it. It’s not like medicine; it does not affect my body negatively in any way. So I feel comfortable and safe taking it. Also, it can be easily incorporated in my hectic lifestyle, allowing me to get those detoxifying and anti-inflammatory benefits while keeping my independence and flexibility.
